The Pink Pony Club Shoot: A Glitter-Drenched Celebration of Self-Expression & Boudoir Empowerment

Self-Love

Mid-summer, I couldn’t stop playing Pink Pony Club by Chappell Roan. That song consumed me…in the best way. Its addictive rhythm, vibrant energy, and wild confidence became a creative obsession. I knew I had to bring it to life.

That’s how the idea for a bold pink boudoir photoshoot was born. I envisioned an explosion of pink, glitter, unapologetic glam, and of course… SKIN. A tribute to self-expression, personal power, and playful sensuality.

As fate would have it, a friend mentioned her sister might be the perfect person for this project. There was just one catch: she lived in Alaska and wouldn’t be in Spokane until December.

Something told me to wait. (And let’s be real, patience is not my strong suit.) But I just knew she was the one.

Behind the Scenes: The Power & Vulnerability of a Boudoir Session

Over the months, anticipation grew, but so did her self-doubt. She wavered. Could she actually do a boudoir session like this? Would she feel confident? Comfortable? Enough?

That push and pull with self-image is something I know intimately, and it’s something many of my clients share. The nerves, the fear, the “what if I don’t like how I look?” It’s real.

When she finally said yes, I was over the moon.

The session day arrived and the energy was electric. She owned it! Pouring her heart into the styling, the colors, the confidence. (And yes, she even made her own assless chaps which were iconic.)

We laughed, we tried bold poses, we experimented with light, shadow, and shimmer. The photos coming straight out of the camera were STUNNING. I couldn’t wait to show her.

When the Doubt Creeps In (Even After the Magic)

But as the shoot came to a close, self-doubt crept back in.

The anxiety. The overwhelm. The inner critic. Even after all the beauty and joy we had created, those old fears came rushing in, and she decided to end the shoot early. My heart broke for her.

I reassured her: “You did amazing. Trust me.”

And I meant it.

The Transformation: Seeing Herself Through the Lens

When she finally saw the final gallery, everything shifted. She saw what I had seen the whole time:

  • Boldness
  • Confidence
  • Natural sensuality
  • Radiant beauty

That spark returned. And for both of us, this shoot became a reminder that insecurity doesn’t discriminate. Even the strongest, most magnetic people fight internal battles.

This experience reminded me why I do what I do. Boudoir isn’t just about sexy photos, it’s about creating a safe space where women can see themselves fully. As they are. Flaws, fears, and all.

This shoot will always hold a special place in my heart.
And to anyone reading this, wondering if you could ever do something like this, I say: yes, you absolutely can.
You are worthy. You are powerful. You are enough, exactly as you are.
